Dec 16, 1891 Chicago Pit Bull Owner Shoots Cat Owner

Chicago - Last October Willie Wohischlagen, who lives at Thirty-seventh street and Hoyne avenue, shot George Schelp of 380 Honore street, in the abdomen.  Willie's bulldog worried Scheip's cat and Schelp was chastising the dog's owner as an accessory.  Wohlschlagen was yesterday held in $1,000 bonds by Justice Lyon on a charge of assault with intent to kill.

Jan 08, 1891 Chicago Bulldog Attacks Boy and is Shot by Police

Chicago - Thomas Messenger, a 16-year-old boy living at No. 3714 Shields avenue, was severely bitten by a vicious bulldog near his home Tuesday night.  The animal had to be shot by Officer Dillon, of the Twenty-second Street Station, before the boy could be rescued.  A doctor promptly cauterized the wounds to prevent rabies.
