This is my boy Snickers. He loved and brought a smile to everyone he came in contact with. Last night the neighbors pit bull attacked Snickers while he was in my arms. He died later last night while he was with the Vet overnight. I loved him like a son!!

East St. Louis - A woman is suing after a neighbor's dog allegedly attacked her.
Pamela Mobley filed the suit on Dec. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Adrius Coleman, the dog's owner; and Parsons Place LP, where the dog lives with its owner.
The suit alleges violation of the Illinois Animal Control Act, as well as negligence on behalf of Coleman and Parsons Place. The suit alleges the defendant did not monitor the property sufficiently to become aware of the dog's behavior and it allegedly should have known the dog is a pit bull.
The plaintiff was walking to her vehicle near the defendant's residence on Jan. 14, 2014 when the dog allegedly charged at her, causing her to injure her left knee.
The suit claims that Mobley's injuries are permanent and continuing, and have resulted in surgery and scarring. She allegedly also has experienced mental anguish, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.
Mobley seeks at least $50,000 from each of the defendants, as well as court costs. She is represented by Ashley Vaughan and Amanda J. Sextro of Brown & Crouppen PC of St. Louis.

HALTER, who is known as "DINK" and occasionally "DINKY" was also employed as an auxiliary police officer for the towns of Alorton and Fairmount City.

Here's a civil suit he was involved in.
Our client was stopped for allegedly violating the obstructed windshield statute. (She had a pine tree air freshener hanging from her rear-view mirror.) Our client was violently pulled from her vehicle and beaten so severely by three purported Alorton police officers that she suffered a seizure disorder that causes her to have multiple seizures per week. She was tased and kicked in the head, losing vision in her eye for one year. Our client continues to have pain radiate down her leg where she was tased. The officers are Robert Cummings, Harry "Dink" Halter and Bryant Falconer. Robert Cummings was the police chief who is now a federally convicted felon. Harry Dink Halter is currently facing felony charges in St. Clair County for forcing a woman to submit to a sex act while he was in a police cruiser. Bryant Falconer's whereabouts are unknown. The case is set for jury trial in March 2012. We were able to settle the case for $250,000. The case was filed in St. Clair County Circuit Court. 2012.
HALTER'S one recent felony conviction amid all those dismissed cases was for pulling a woman over when he was off duty and out of his jurisdiction and coercing the woman to engage in oral sex with him to avoid a criminal charge for driving on a suspended license. Court records indicate HALTER was drunk at the time.

6:04 p.m. Burglary to residence -- 200 block of South 16th Street. The victim reported between noon and 5 p.m. a side door was pried open and several flat screen TVs were stolen.
6:31 p.m. Dog at large, dog bite -- 4000 block of Betty Drive. Victim stated she was walking her dog when Cedric Swygart's pit bull attacked her dog. The victim was bitten on the foot in the process. Swygart could not provide proof of vaccination so the pit bull was taken by Animal Control. Swygart was issued a nontraffic citation and released with a notice to appear.

Cahokia - A woman claims she was attacked by a vicious pit bull while visiting her son's Cahokia residence.
Nancy Yon filed suit against Marcus Acoff and Fannie Acoff on July 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Yon claims the dog came onto her son's property at 2405 Donna Drive without permission and attacked her without provocation.

East St. Louis - Larry J. Blanchard Sr. filed a lawsuit Jan. 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Michael K. Suggs, V'Nicia L. Keel and Willie B. Sledge.
Blanchard claims the attack happened on Nov. 19 at 1376 North 35th St. in East St. Louis after Suggs and Keel failed to properly contain their pit bulls.
"Defendant's pit bull dogs attacked, struck down, bit, and chewed plaintiff severely injuring plaintiff as hereinafter alleged, all of which was without provocation by plaintiff," the suit states.

Apr 07, 2009 Lawsuit: East Carondelet Pit Bull Attacked Visiting Woman
East Carondelet - Karie Darnell filed a lawsuit against Debra K. and A.J. Mikel in St. Clair County Circuit Court on April 2.

She says she was visiting the couple at an East Carondelet residence on June 18, 2007, when Rocky, the Mikels' pit bull terrier dog, bit her left hand and wrist.
Because of the unprovoked attack, Darnell says she suffered severe and permanent injuries and incurred medical costs of more than $10,000. She also lost wages of more than $2,000, according to the complaint.
The Mikels knew Rocky had a vicious and dangerous propensity and knew he had exhibited aggressive and violent behavior toward others, but failed to warn Darnell of the dog's dangerous tendencies and failed to maintain control of him, the suit states.

East Carondelet - A man has been charged with violating a St. Clair County ordinance after his pit bull allegedly attacked an 8-year-old boy on Veterans Day.

Johnson says the boy was playing on his own yard when the pit bull attacked him. The child went to an area hospital with bite wounds to his head, eyes and back of his neck.

Aug 15, 2007 Lawsuit: Pit Bull Attacked Girl at Birthday Party
Swansea - Shannon Peyla claims her 13-year-old daughter was attacked by a pit bull while attending a birthday party March 10 at Melvin Price Park in Swansea, according to a personal injury lawsuit filed against the dog’s owners.
Peyla filed the complaint against Troy Compton and Wanda Shea in St. Clair County Circuit Court on Aug. 14 claiming her daughter sustained multiple dog bite lacerations to her face resulting in permanent scarring as well as the loss of a front tooth.
Peyla claims the defendants brought the dog to the birthday party even though the same dog allegedly had bitten a child in October 2006.

Mar 15, 2007 Attacks By Pit Bull Dogs Reported To Smithton Board
Smithton - Residents of the Field Stone Subdivision spoke to the Smithton village Board about two recent pit bull attacks. One attack was an invasion attack. A neighbor's pit bull attacked and then followed the victim into his home through the kitchen door.
The victim said that after the pit bull entered her home, her kids became afraid to go outside, and her toddler was even afraid to go near the door the pit bull invaded through. Her older child was afraid to walk their five-month old dachshund. She started a petition to ban pit bulls and rottweilers.
Another resident reported that her son had also been attacked right after they moved in. She lamented that they thought their move to Smithton was going to be to a safer community and she is very upset that the Village has let her down.

May 20, 1908 Belleville Man Was Attacked By A Bulldog
Belleville - John Brello, an Italian, was attacked by a bulldog while walking along the rock road on Tuesday evening and severely bitten about the shoulder and breast. Other persons who were close by assisted Brello in routing the canine.
