Dec 16, 1878 Chicago Boy Fearfully Bitten by a Ferocious Bulldog

Frank Kelley, aged 12 years, of 428 West Ohio street, was attacked and fearfully bitten on the left leg by a ferocious bulldog while passing No. 479 on the same street, Saturday.  The boy's recovery is hoped for.  Officer roche killed the dog.

Feb 23, 1878 Chicago Bulldog set on Goat

A disgusting brute named Frank Nigh was locked up at the Armory yesterday, charged with disorderly conduct and cruelty to animals in having set a bulldog on to a goat belonging to F. Donohue, of 430 State street.  The goat was horribly mangled, getting a leg broken and an ear torn off.
